Daniel vs

Date: Mon, 13 Feb 2012 11:08:37 -0700
From: eric.feller@myldsmail.net

You'll never guess where I was transfered! I'm now the new Zone Leader in the San Tan Zone, (Which is just south of the Gilbert Zone where I just was, still in Gilbert) In the area that has the Gilbert Temple! (see picture below) My companion is Elder Howard, who Iived with in Queen Creek a while ago. My new area is pretty legit. But first...

My last couple weeks in Gilbert were pretty good. We were pretty busy trying to make something happy. We're always busy either doing things or making things happen. But it was good, it built my faith a lot. Which is really what I needed. The funnest thing I did last week was go on exchanges with the Spanish Elders. It was fun being super busy, and trying to speak Spanish. And I joined in on Elder Lanier's pass time of hunting bottle caps. Theres a picture of my first day's find below. I've found a few more since then. haha. It was pretty fun. We were also able to teach the two other Porter Kids and put them on date right before I left. I'm sad I'm going to miss that!

My new area is pretty good. We go to a gym every morning, because my companion has permission because he hurt his foot a while ago. Its nice. We also have a car. We started off with a red Corolla, but the seat was broken and wouldn't slide back so I didn't fit very well. So we traded some other missionaries for a for a Chevy Malibu. Its pretty nice, roomy, and has 6 cylinders. Theres lots of work to od in my new area. This is the first time in a while I went into an area that had people ready to be baptized. Its nice, but kinda weird. There's lots to do, and everything is awesome. The members are really great. Its kind of a more wealthy area again. The lead singer of Linkin Park lives in a neighborhood we taught a lesson in last night.

I'm happy.

Love,
Elder Feller

Daniel vs Nice Weather

Date: Mon, 12 Sep 2011 10:49:53 -0700
From: eric.feller@myldsmail.net

This past week has been pretty slow. We had a lot of cancelled apointments and people were so sick of the heat that there was no one outside. But starting on friday the weather got nicer. It was only 100 degrees outside at the hottest part of the day. We were hoping to talk to a bunch of people on saturday when the weather was a little nicer but only mormon people were outside! So it was a rough week. Not too much happened.

Lindsey cancelled on us this week because she was having an argument with her husband that day and didnt want to pull us into it. The situation is still rough there, but I think the bishop is feeling the pressure on him to get it together. He basically created a problem... and theres nothing we can do fix it. I talked to our ward Mission Leader, Bro. Larsen about it on saturday, and he was just as mad as me, if not more.. It was really funny because he was trying to maintain a neutral position, because he has to live here forever... but we could tell. We we went to give him the progress record and he said "I'll crumple it up and throw it in his face and say 'wow, I didnt know there was a form for regression!'" It was pretty funny. But, through it all, Lindsey is still strong and wanting to be baptized. She's pretty confused and shook up still, but she's still on the right track. She was sick this week and couldnt make it to church...

The Mendoza's are doing awesome! We had a lesson with them on wednesday, and dinner with them and another family sunday, and we rescheduled going to the Mesa Temple Visitors Center for tonight. So we're really excited about that. They want to leave a little early and take us to Weinersnitzel because Elder Krueger has never heard of it before... They are planning on being baptized on the 24th of September, but we might have to move it a day because of the General Releif Society Meeting. I told the Ward Mission Leader to just move it and he said he'd call the Prophet. But thats ok, they still are doing awesome, and really want to be baptized.

One of the guys we live with ordered 150 pounds of ties. So we've opened all of them and have made a huge ball of all the extra ugly ties. Its massive... but remains unfinished. Pictures next week.

Not too much else, but I have a bunch of pictures since I forgot my camera the last few weeks!

Daniel vs The Second Transfer!

Date: Tue, 31 May 2011 10:34:58 -0700
From: eric.feller@myldsmail.net

Helllllooooo from Queen Creek. Transfers are tomorrow and I'm not even going to the meeting. Elder Baird and I are going round two in the QC! Which is exciting because we're hoping to baptize like 6 people this coming transfer. But we'll get to that in the upcoming weeks.

By the way, I did not get any calls last night. No trainer or District Leader calls. BUT ELDER LESH DID! our beloved district leader Elder Lesh is becoming a zone leader and leaving Queen Creek.

Last week was pretty good. Not much to tell. Brother Powell went to Yuma this weekend to "discuss some things" with his parents. We took that as meaning he's telling his parents he wants to be baptized. So we've been praying for that to be a good experience for him. The Mongane family moved to queen creek, which is good. They still don't live in our area but they go to our ward. No one tells a stubborn little man from Africa what to do! We're hopefully be planning their baptism as well when we meet with them on Wednesday. We met with the Wilkins family finally! They are doing awesome and we're going to dinner and the visitors center with them tonight. Bro Wilkins met with Bishop on Sunday so hopefully he'll be ready to baptize his kids pretty soon.

Other than that I slept terribly last night, so I'm not in the mood to write a lot. I'm kicking my missionary work up a few gears this transfer so expect big things!

Love

Elder Feller!

PS! The Nerd Award! I forgot to tell you. There is a ten year old girl in one of our wards that gives all the missionaries a test to see if they are a nerd or not. Its pretty funny. I passed the test the first night I was here, and I finally got my certificate! It is show bellow.

Daniel vs Monday P-day

Date: Mon, 25 Apr 2011 10:58:27 -0700
From: eric.feller@myldsmail.net

Happy Monday P-Day! My email comes early this week because P-day has officially been moved to mondays.

We went to the easter pageant two more times since I got here! Thursday and Friday.

Thursday was cool because we went with a part member family that we're not really teaching... But we talked to him on the way home and he agreed to pray about taking the lessons! Hopefully he will. He's whats known as a "Dry-Mormon" - meaning: Not baptised.

Then Friday was crazy! We had to fill the font for another missionary's baptism because he was at some meeting, then we went to dinner then we went biking outside, ran into one of our investigators on his golf cart, he's HOA president so he just rides around, and he said, "yeah I want to go tonight." Its like 6:00 at this point on friday. So the pageant is already packed and we said ok, but we gotta leave right now and we probably wont get good seats. He demanded good seats... So he calls the Mesa Temple Visitors center, talks to an old lady missionary and she says she'll get him a seat because he walks with a crutch. We go home to get in suits and he goes home to get ready. Its like 6:15 and he agrees to be at our house at 6:25. 6:45 rolls around and he pulls up. We finally leave, and then he doesn't have his handicapped parking thing. So we go get that, and get to Mesa, the long way, and then get a parking spot... finally. Its like 7:45 when we come up to the pageant. The pageant starts at 8 and people have been sitting since 4:30. He walks in the visitors center and the Sister says, "you were supposed to be here earlier!" and he explains, and she goes up to the missionary seating and gets him a seat right up front. We had to stand off to the side. But it was so funny. And you really have to understand that this thing is PACKED. Especially the last friday of the show.

Anyways. Saturday was boring. We got anti'd and I got mad. I totally anti'd him back, and then realized what I was doing and then left. I dont like to deal with that. ps, NO ONE tells me that the Bible says that "the bible is the infallible word of God" and doesn't show me where. But I dont want to get into that story.

Sunday was easter! I'm greeting people at church, showing myself off, and then they pull me and my companion up into the ward choir. I hear the song one time, and then go back and sit down. So I had to sing in church. But anyways. Church was fun.
We had easter dinner at our Ward Mission Leader's house. I got to know him. He's awesome, and we're expecting big things for that ward!

... Then I woke up this morning. Monday P-days are weird.

LOVE ELDER FELLER!
We heard if you surround a scorpion with fire it'll stab itself in the head. It just ran into the fire and got burned.

Just kidding! The church has fake pianos here.
